Due to Covid restrictions, I like many others could not maintain my flying hours
So my (SEP) rating has expired.
To get it back, I more or less have to do most of the flying training programme again. That is expensive and time consuming.
I'm still thinking about what to do.
Shame really.

Hi Joe! I occasionally check out your blog because I also learnt to fly at Redhill around the same time you did.
ReplyDeleteI let my SEP lapse shortly before Covid--but I found it wasn't a huge deal to get it renewed. You have to do an LPC (Licence Proficiency Check) with an examiner, but isn't nearly as involved as a full skills test. You could probably do maybe four hours with an instructor as a refresher and then take the LPC.
